Valentines

Part one:

Take a piece of construction paper and fold in half and cut out your hearts.

Make 2 sizes

Part 2:

Next you want to print and cut out your favorite 'Love' Bible verse.

We chose John 3:16

For God so loved the world that he sent his only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him shall not perish but have everlasting life.

Glue it to the center of the hearts and sign the back!

Ad glue and sprinkle liberrally with glitter.

Ice experiment

Temperatures here in the South were really cold in the single digits a few mornings here recently.

We did a little experiment.

Here is the observation journal. We kept track of our observations every 40 minutes or so...We tracked 4 cups of water. 2 cups were placed in the sun and 2 in the shade.

1 of the 2 were filled and the other had just a small amout of water.

After 4 1/2, hours only the full cup in the sun was frozen. And the full cup in the shad was slushy.

By bed time most were frozen, but these two were only patially frozen.

They were only filled part of the way!

One down one to go

I just finished this insert for my Mom yesterday.

She lives in Ipswich, ma. and we are going for a visit in a few weeks.

She and I will go get some matching fabric to make a pillow.

I hope the colors go in the room she wants this in.

Are colors the most challenging whn you are making a gift for someone?

That and sizes for clothing are for me...

This is supposed to be a chain stitch but not sure if I am doing it right. It is hard to teach yourself without someone looking over your shoulder to tell you if you are doing it right....

Last night I did the branch in chain stitch! I taught myself the new stitch, and the Birds are a periwinkle Blue done in stem stitch.

Another pillow

This was requested by a sweet boy who wants to be a preacher when he grows up. He admired the horse pillow I made Genesis and this is what I came up with.
My corners (the ones around the embroidering) are a bit frayed. I clipped them a bit. I should have looked up how to do this somewhere. I had no pattern. My husband was on the computer last night.

I did a soft denim backing.

I tried the chain stitch and failed to get it right. I know that these stitches aren't perfect, but I kept remining myself, no one will even know. How many projects could you ffinish if you would accept that fact?

A New smile!!

After watching youtube videos for 45 min. we decided to use the tie the floss around the tooth method. after three attempts (the floss slip right off) I yanked it right out. She was more in shock than anything, but it really didn't hurt.

She Loves the barbie website and sings the Diamond Castle songs. She said her voice is pretty after losing her tooth on Sunday.

Yesterday we went ice skating! She did well I think. I didn't dare bring a camera, I thought with her needing me to hold her hand the whole time and a few falls...well it was FUN!

Christmas

Here are a few updates from Christmas.

Christmas was quite, just the 3 of us and Kitty.

I made Genesis a pajama gown and she loves the Hippo Christmas song. I just happened to find this cute hippo fabric!

The spoils are as follows, Barbies and accessories, watch, doll case, clothes. American doll and outfits, Polly Pocket stuff, Journals, cookbook, videos, Blanket, Arts and craft sets...$$$

I stitched this Horse pillow and gave it to Genesis for Christmas

It's My 38th Birthday!

I had breakfast in bed and a big balloon and confetti surprise waiting for me when I got out of the shower. I will be posting some holiday updates soon.
